"PhotoDaily
continues to be a valuable part of our business. It allows us to find
publications that are seeking images within our target areas. PhotoDaily
has been a consistent source for establishing new clients and keeping
up with the needs of established photobuyers. Thanks for the great market

"We
have subscribed to PhotoDaily for years. Rohn and the folks at PhotoDaily
have a wonderful insight into the photo needs of the rights-managed
photo community and content-specific stock photography demands. We have
made many sales by utilizing the leads and requests on the PhotoDaily
and have enjoyed many lasting client contacts as a result of these sales.
The service is crucial to our daily operations."

"I've subscribed to PhotoDaily for more than seven years and every week I have
at least one and usually more good leads on stock photographs. My subscription
to PhotoDaily has helped me build a flourishing litlle stock photo agency
at home. In the digital age, I now handle all communications via email
and the Internet, including invoicing and delivery of images. PhotoDaily
is a good choice for all photographers with substantial imaging files
who would like to establish their own, small, independent business at
home."
- Raymond Bial, Author and Photographer, Illinois

"I
just sold a book cover for $1000 as a direct result of a PhotoDaily
contact."

Tina Manley, Photographer, Rock Hill, SC

"Thanks
to PhotoDaily listings, I've sold "Two" images to National Geographic.
One was used as a part of a program for schools, the other was used
in their "Kids" Magazine. They may not be Prestigious Covers, but it's
still National Geographic! Besides that, I sell numerous images to a
variety of other publications as well. PhotoDaily is an investment I
highly recommend for Stock Shooters."

THE BIG PICTURE
As a stock photographer, you've
no doubt discovered that a winning strategy is to seek out markets
that continually need photos that match your interest areas and
the kind of images you like to take. These markets, "theme publishers,"
are always looking for stock photographers who "speak their language"
and can supply them with the kind of images that they constantly
need.
Over the course of a year's subscription to the PhotoDaily,
you might find only ten (10) publishers of magazines or books
that meet this goal. If at first glance that sounds modest, take
another look: You can earn anywhere from $1000 to $5000 (sometimes
more) a year from each of these publishing houses—$10,000 to $50,000
or more for the year.
THE LONG TERM VALUE
Here's the math:
Publishing houses don't change their theme. Most photographers
continue to work with a specific publishing house for an average
of at least ten years. $5,000 per publishing house per year equals
$50,000 in ten years. If you find just 10 publishers that match
your interest area, thanks to subscribing one year to the PhotoDaily,
you've positioned yourself to reap $500,000 in sales (half a million
dollars) over a ten-year period. And this is a conservative figure.
You're not looking for the PhotoDaily
to bring you sales leads every day. Your aim is to find just 10
market matches over the course of a year. |

"The
photographer's life is not getting any easier, except for such services
as those offered by Rohn Engh. I have subscribed to his want lists since
it was one yellow sheet - way too long ago to remember the year. But
I can't forget the help those lists gave me as a stock photographer,
or the constant stream of new clients they brought me. I have also continually
benefited from his educative articles and books. As a pioneer, he has
been imitated, but never equaled. I wish him long life."

Victor Englebert, Photographer, Allentown, PA

"I've
been using Rohn's marketletters from the very beginning. Was it coming
via Pony Express then? Now with the PhotoDaily I find the listings and
contacts a terrific resource. I look forward to many more years of his
daily listings..."

"I
have subscribed to PhotoDaily for a couple of years and have sold multiple
images from South Carolina and other regions of the country - Including
a recent sale to National Geographic Traveler. Great work on bringing
me qualified photo leads. Thanks!"

Some PhotoDaily
Q & A's
Q: Do listing in the PhotoDaily duplicate those
in your weekly PhotoLetter?
A: No. The listings in the PhotoDaily are different.
PhotoLetter listings are from mid- range markets and pay $25
to $99 per photo. Listings in the PhotoDaily are from major markets
that pay $100 and up per photo. No repeats –fresh new listings
every day.
Q: How do I receive the PhotoDaily?
A: Via email.
Q: If I qualify to receive the PhotoDaily, can
I sign on for both information services – PhotoDaily and PhotoLetter?
A: Yes.
Q: How do I qualify for PhotoDaily?
A: Along with your application form, send us your website
address, or send three tearsheets of work published in national publications.
Our eligibility board will review your work or your website. Call us
if you have any questions. All monies will be refunded to you if upon
review by our board, your work does not meet eligibility criteria.
Q: How do I pay for my PhotoDaily service? (Subscription
fee is $375.00 annually, or $35 by the month.)
A: By check, Pay Pal, or credit card. We honor all major
credit cards. You can pay annually or have us charge your credit card
monthly ($35). You save $45 by paying annually. You may cancel at any
time (by giving a 30-day written notice), and receive any refund due
you for issues not received. Two to three photo sales pay your entire
year's subscription.
Q: Can I save each PhotoDaily to a disk and then
build my own personal data base of photo editors, addresses, photo needs,
subject matter, etc. for future reference?
A: Yes. Bonus: Each month we send you an update of photobuyer
changes (staff changes, new addresses, phone numbers, etc.).
Q: If I have a marketing question, where can I get consultation?
A: We suggest the Kracker Barrel (see our Home
Page). It's a bulletin board where fellow stock photographers share
their expertise. http://www.photosource.com/board. Questions
are answered by Mikael Karlsson (website moderator and pro photographer),
or another expert in the field, or Rohn Engh, director of PhotoSource
International. You may also call PhotoSource International at 800 624
0266 and arrange a one-hour telephone consultation with Rohn Engh (cost:
$200).
Selling
stock photography to editorial markets (average fees $100 to $250 per
photo) is not to be confused with Royalty-Free Internet sites that sell
photos for 50 cents or a dollar.
PhotoSource
International's latest survey of photobuyers at magazines, newspapers,
and books, found that Royalty-Free images make up 10% to 15% of the
purchases by these editorial buyers. They spend the lion's share of
their photography budgets on specific-content editorial photos, for
quality illustrations for their focused publishing projects. The general,
"generic" nature of Royalty-Free images won't do. Fees paid for editorial
images range from $100 to $300 and up.

"I've
subscribed to the PhotoDaily for many years and regularly find listings
there that lead to stock photo sales. For instance, one of my regular
clients now is the United Methodist women's magazine, Response, which
I learned of through the PhotoDaily. Their photo needs are a great fit
with the kind of work I do, and so I end up selling them something most
every month. Subscribing to the PhotoDaily has been one of the best
investments I've made."

just had my largest sale ever (4 digits), to Random House thanks to
